The league is supported by Horse Sport Ireland and the sponsor of the prize money last Saturday was Brian Cassidy. Course designer on the day was Paul Duffy and there were 56 starters, including welcome visitors from far-flung parts of the country, all aiming to show off their prowess on his course.

Sixteen combinations made it to the jump-off, which was intricate and interesting. First into the fray was Conall McLoughlin (Shannondale Sonic), who unfortunately took the wrong course and was eliminated.

Next in was Damien Griffin with Tabby, making it look simple with their clear, polished round in 40.10 seconds.

Their time looked good for a further 12 horses until the blossoming combination of Cormac Hanley and Captains Magic Touch got the bell.

Cutting corners on the track and jumping the odd fence corner to corner, they streaked through the finish clear in 38.28 to take the lead.

Last to jump was league leader Jessica Burke with Vitesse, whose time of 39.80 neatly slotted them into second place.

In the league overall, Jessica has now dropped down to second place on the leaderboard, while Cormac Hanley and Captains Magic Touch move to the top. The league action now moves to Corrandulla tomorrow.
