FOLLOWING yesterday’s Horse Sport Ireland Breeding Sub Board meeting, it was confirmed that a breeding grant of €125,000 will be available in 2016 for the sponsorship and support of classes at various equestrian shows and events nationwide.

Applications are currently being sought from parties that wish to avail of this funding, with further details on the eligibility and evaluation criteria will be made available on the HSI website on Monday, April 11th. The closing date is Monday, April 25th.

Commenting on the announcement, chairman of the HSI Breeding Sub Board, Jim Beecher, said: “This is a significant amount of money which the Breeding Sub Board hope will support a range of classes in different disciplines around the country. An application process is in place to ensure that the breeding grant is targeted at classes which showcase the best of Irish breeding and contribute to the overall development of the industry.”
