NOMINATIONS are being sought by the Association of Irish Riding Clubs (AIRC) for the 2016 Lancelot Awards, which celebrate the organisation’s exceptional members and volunteers.

The closing date for nominations is noon on Friday, November 4th next.

Short-listed nominees from last year are not eligible for re-nomination this year.

The Lancelot Awards salute excellence, courage, commitment and dedication and riding clubs around the country are invited to submit their nominations.

Clubs can submit nominations for Club of the Year, Club Secretary of the Year and Club Member of the Year. Nominations must be submitted via the electronic forms which were distributed to club secretaries.

Individual members can also submit nominations for Person of the Year Award via the link on www.airc.ie.

AIRC chairman Tony Ennis said: “If there is someone out there - another member, a club official or a volunteer - who you think should be recognised, this is your club’s opportunity to reward their efforts.

“Without volunteers, our Association simply could not function so I encourage every club to get involved in this years awards and to submit their nominations as soon as possible.”
