THE inaugural National Cashjumping Ireland Championships are to be held at The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan, Co Armagh on Saturday and Sunday, September 20th and 21st.

More than 1,600 horse and rider combinations have registered with Cashjumping Ireland since it was first introduced five months ago, with show jumpers loving the chance to win prize money in every class, according to Aaron McCusker, owner of the franchise.

The top 50 rider/pony and rider/horse combinations in each classification, as shown on the list published on the Cashjumping Ireland website published earlier this week (September 1st), are eligible to enter.

The final qualifying list will be published on the Cashjumping Ireland website no later than September 14th.

Entry fees for the championship finals will be double the normal Cashjumping Ireland entry fees and the cash awards will be double the usual level of awards. In addition to the cash awards the winner of each class will receive an embroidered championship rug.

“We are extremely excited to be running the first ever Cashjumping Ireland Championships at The Meadows as it’s going to be a super day with lots going on,” said McCusker.

“As well as lots of cash up for grabs for riders of all levels there will be a great atmosphere on the day, with loads going on including pairs competitions on the Saturday for any CJI registered combinations.”

Cashjumping Ireland shows are now running throughout Ulster, Munster and Leinster as the concept grows in popularity, attracts more competitors and in turn leads to larger prize funds.

While the inaugural championships will be held at The Meadows EC this year, the future championships may be held at one of the affiliated Cashjumping Ireland centres who will be invited to tender for the position as championship host.
