The Hurricane proves a winning force for Boland

EARLIER action at Wexford Equestrian saw Abigail Boland take the win in the 1.25m class when she partnered The Hurricane to a clear in 36.23 seconds. Owned by Mary Boland, the 15-year-old gelding is by Tremoelgoch Clinton out of Milly Gould.

Following closely behind were Tadhg Beecher and Bonmahon Blue Star, clear in 36.37. Kate Dilloghery kept all the poles in place with Rosalie in 36.37 for third, ahead of Deirdre Doyle and BLM Authentic Diamond, clear in 37.33.

Fifth place belonged to Adam Carey and Highfive, clear in 38.13, while completing the top-six line-up was Linda Murphy with Sam Salad, clear in 39.16.

1.15m class

Taking the win in the 1.15m class were Waterford’s Paddy O’Donnell and Via Butterfly Flip, when they delivered a clear in 37.68. Owned by Anna Fee, the 12-year-old mare is by Hannibal V Overis Z out of the Aldaltus Z-sired Aidensfield Caprice.

O’Donnell was chased home by Gillian Bond and Vicomte DH Z in 38.29, ahead of Alannah O’ Donoghue and Mac An Bata. Roisin O’Sullivan also answered all the questions, albeit in 39.72 for eventual fourth, ahead of Daisy Duggan and EMS Adelaide, in 40.65. Slotting into sixth place were Eva Boland and BP Fandango, 41.75.
