Pony and young riders flocked to Barnadown last weekend to contest the last round of the Dublin Horse Show qualifiers.

Taking the win in the 128cm class was Isobel Sheehan with He’s a Touch of Magic. In total, nine proceeded to the third round and from those just three clears were delivered. Sheehan wasted no time and delivered the winning round in a time of 44.82 seconds.

Taking the runner-up spot when crossing the line in 46.18 seconds was India Heffron with Dandy. The last clear was delivered by Alice Moloney and Is Fearr An Star in 52.11.

Peter Morton and Tynnan Tuttle Pip proved that the time could be beaten when clocking 39.78, but it came at a price as he crossed the line carrying four faults for eventual fourth.

Also, on four faults was Lauren Adams with Moyralla Bob in a time of 41.25 for fifth, ahead of Iseult Fleming and Miss Charming, four faults in 41.77.

Victory in the 138cm division went to Marta Hughes Bravo when she clocked the winning round with Mayfly Black Pennell, clear in 41.44. Competition came down to the wire with seven combinations delivering triple clears.

Taking the runner-up spot was Sarah Fitzgerald and Dooneens Captain Classic. They stopped the clock in 41.70, ahead of Oliver Doherty and Sparkling Nina Lass in 44.03. Slotting into fourth place was Hazel Barrett and Billy Liar (0/0 45.21), while in fifth place was Patrick Fleming and Coppenagh Celtic Rebel in 51.37.

Two combinations, Alexandra Hourigan (Aille Stewy) and Matthew Conlon (Glenford Clausa) both came home in 52.61 to share sixth place.

In the 148cm section, it was Ryan Sweetnam and Kilcummin Cruise who tookvictory when they were they fastest of the three double clears in 46.96 seconds. This combination had finished in seventh place in the qualifying round at the Meadows.

Sweetnam was chased home by Jack Geaney and Slaney Capitalist Cruise (0/0 44.84). The pair had already qualified when finishing third at Maryville. Taking third place in this round was Sarah O’Donnell and Glor Tire Cruise, who played it safe and delivered a clear in 51.88.

Niamh Mc Evoy was fastest of the four-faulters with Toscane Davir in 47.54 for fourth, ahead of Annie Gibson and Calimero on four faults in 52.17. Completing the top-six line-up were Orla Duffy and Atlanta who had four faults in 53.35.

Due to appeals being lodged on the day, no other results were available at time of print. All qualified combinations will be clarified by Showjumping Ireland. This report is based on results on the day.
