Comfortable win for Achonry Carie

RICHARD Kerins and Frank Kelly’s mare Achonry Carie (Hermes De Reve - Sir Rivie) won last Sunday’s 1.30m by a very large margin, crossing the finish line in a time of 35.61, over six and a half seconds ahead of runner-up Emily Turkington and the eight-year-old stallion Comdero II Van Beek Z in 42.27 seconds.

Daniel Carroll, riding the Dutch-bred mare Hollywood, slotted into third in 42.28. Holly Lenahan and the seven-year-old gelding by Ustinov, out of Summerbridge Flush (by Clover Flush) were fourth in 42.33.

Fifth went to Kerins and his second mount Danny Mao’s Belgian-bred seven-year-old Ovidius Van de Kooldries, while sixth was Jaymie Crawford with his own Mermus R gelding Crystal Ban Magna.
