WE at the Irish Horse World are constantly amazed by the stunning work of our regular photographers, so it comes as no surprise to see two of our top contributors acknowledged by the Irish Professional Photographers and Videographers Association (IPPVA).
In the winter round of the IPPVA’s 2024/2025 awards, Rynes Walker from Oughterard, Co Galway, had no less than six images awarded. Three of these were in the Open Creative Category, one was in the Portrait Environmental and Studio Category and a further two equine images were in the Reportage category.
Aisling Deverell of Annaharvey Farm, in addition to having four images awarded in the Portrait Environmental and Studio Category and four in the Open Creative Category, was also the recipient of a coveted gold award in the Studio Portrait category, which means she will go forward as a finalist for this category, as well as in the open creative category, in the Irish Professional Photographer and Videographer of the Year Awards 2025.
Her gold award-winning image features Covey, a beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. “Capturing the unique personalities of the pets I photograph is always my goal, and this recognition makes it even more rewarding,” Deverell said.
“A huge thank you to the IPPVA judges, organisers and, of course, to Covey’s wonderful family for trusting me to create this portrait.”
