WHILE Bob O’Keeffe is certain that big times lie ahead for Shanagore Jenga, he is delighted that the chesnut’s new American owners have already had her out competing, and winning, and she is due to appear again this weekend.

Having finished 13th under Christine O’Donnell in the CCI2* for seven-year-olds at Le Lion d’Angers last October, the West Coast Cavalier mare was sold through Carol Gee to Cheryl Lattimore Drury whose daughter Paige (17) partnered the mare to land a Junior Novice Rider class at the Pine Top event on February 10th, completing on her winning dressage score.

Shanagore Jenga is out of the Gone Fishin mare Mission Belle whose four-year-old, Shanagore Jasper (a full-brother to Jenga), is with Kieran Carey in Gowran as is the same owner’s Shanagore Lusty.

This non-related eight-year-old gelding, who is by Lux Z out of a point-to-point maiden winner by Presenting, evented last season and won four working hunter championships with Alice Copithorne in the saddle.
