The competition went down to the wire and it was the team from Our Lady of Lourdes in New Ross, Co Wexford who came out on top.

The team consisted of Eva Boland and Mylo II, Abbey Boland with Beau Spark, Hannah Holden and Hilltop Pearl and Sarah O’Donoghue riding Indigo Blue.

Gorey Community School finished in second place. The school was represented by Rebecca Steacy, Shannon Byrne, Orla Allen and Doireann Ryan.

In third place was the St Gerard’s Black team of Isabelle Reboule Geraghty, Sophie Reboule Geraghty, Natasha Behan and Sarah Diamond.

The King’s Hospital team of Rebekah Forster, Emma Smith, Poppy Connolly-Carew and Ellen Forster finished in fourth place.

The two remaining places were filled by Good Counsel College from New Ross and Coláiste Bhríde from Carnew.

In the open individual competition, Julie Keeley and Igor De Monceaux from Mountrath Community School claimed the win, ahead of Abbey Boland in second and James Kavanagh in third.

The remaining places went to Shannon Hynes, Laura Finnerty and Blathnaid Boyd.

Running simultaneously in the top arena were the novice competitions, where the Wesley College team of Holly Miklem, Pippa Durham, Tilly Shaw and Jessie Aragane saw off a determined challenge from the two Newbridge College teams.

In second place was the Newbridge College Gold team of Hannah Rasmussen, Clodagh Finlay, Ruby Maher and Ciara Harris.

The Newbridge College Silver team of Emma Dillon, Peter Dillon, Amy Carroll and Emily O’Brien finished in third.

However there was some consolation for Newbridge College in the novice individual class, which was won by Hannah Rasmussen ahead of Lucy Bolger.

Tilly Shaw finished in third place, followed by Amy Carroll in fourth, Holly Miklem in fifth and Emily O’Brien in sixth.

The league, sponsored by Equestrian World Of Maynooth and jumpinaction.net, moves to Kernan’s Equestrian Centre in Co Down this weekend.
