IRISH riders were out in force at the two-star show in Kronenberg, The Netherlands, last weekend, picking up numerous wins and placings.

Wexford’s Bertram Allen won Sunday’s 1.35m two-phase class aboard the eight-year-old Go To Fortuna. Twelve of the starting 26 combinations produced double clear rounds and Allen’s time of 26.86 seconds was the best in the class.

Eoin Gallagher was the winner of the 1.40m Table A on Sunday morning. Riding Di Caprio, he galloped to victory by three hundredths of a second in a time of 30.53, ahead of Dutchman Gerco Schröder with Glock’s Champions Ludwig.

Co Meath’s Alexander Butler won a 1.40m Table A on the opening day at the Dutch venue. Riding Umours Batilly, Butler broke the beam in 62.81 seconds, ahead of The Netherlands’ Aniek Diks. Bertram Allen slotted into third place with Calafrieda.

Mayo’s Cameron Hanley finished seventh in Sunday’s 1.45m Grand Prix. Riding the Cian O’Connor-bred Irish Sport Horse ESI Toulouse (SIEC Livello x Quasimodo vd Molendreef), Hanley produced the slowest clear round in the 15-horse jump-off. Bertram Allen faulted once against the clock to finish ninth with Calafrieda. Victory went to Portugal’s Luciana Diniz and the experienced 18-year-old gelding Lennox 180 (0/0 41.41).
