Mirdad double

SHEIKH Samir Mirdad performed a brilliant double at the Global Champions Tour in St Tropez, France. He began by winning Thursday’s two-star 1.15m two-phase class aboard the Irish Sport Horse Mirdads Zamzaam (Mermus R x Cruising).

The eight-year-old mare, formally known as Thomascourt Senna, had huge success in the young horse classes under Cavan’s Mervyn Clarke before Mirdad took over the reins. He placed third in the same class with Mirdads Maaa Shaaa Allah (Guidam x Quick Star).

He reversed those placings on Saturday when Mirdads Maaa Shaaa Allah won the 1.15m Table A class and Mirdads Zamzaam finished third.

Kenny third

RIVER Lodge Equestrian’s Michelle Kenny picked up numerous placings at the two-star show in Moorsele, Belgium, last weekend, among them a third in Saturday’s 1.35m take your own line class with RLE Avalon du Carpont (Jivaro du Rouet x Frisson de Balme). She also slotted into seventh aboard Fusion.

Lauren Divine was in action at the venue and she finished fourth in a 1.30m aboard Cassandra VL Z.
