ON her first week at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Oliva, Spain, Emily Turkington scored four top-five placings, including victory in Friday’s 1.40m Table A.

Riding her own 15-year-old gelding Legend, Turkington was the fastest of a massive 40 clear rounds when breaking the beam in 56.78 seconds to earn €375. The pair had finished runners-up in the 1.35m the previous day to Germany’s Cedric Wolf.

In the two-star division, Turkington finished fourth in Friday’s 1.35m with the Irish Sport Horse Jay Gatsby (Gatsby x Lougheries Quiet Man), bred by Cormac McKay. The pair produced a clear in 60.88 seconds.

Also competing at the venue, Wexford’s Harry Allen finished third in Friday’s 1.40m Table A aboard Ballywalter Farm’s Angela de Kreisker when clear in 62.93 seconds.

Clem McMahon was runner-up in Thursday’s two-star 1.45m Table A. Riding the eight-year-old Irish Sport Horse Hilton Up The Banner, bred by Gerard Kelly, he was one of just two clear rounds behind German winner David Will.

Thomas Ryan slotted into third with Li Torimo after picking up a single time fault. Ryan was second in Thursday’s two-star 1.40m two-phase. He guided Quintano 56 to a clear round in 34.58 seconds.
