Dutch win for McMahon

CO Clare show jumper Conor McMahon won Sunday’s five and six-year-old final in Kronenberg, The Netherlands.

Riding Manton Grange Stables’ six-year-old KWPN mare Haranta (VDL Zirocco Blue N.O.P. x Carolus H), McMahon posted the fastest time of 26.60 seconds in the jump-off. Tom Slattery placed fourth with Haufom (0/0 28.48).

Jack Ryan won Saturday’s seven-year-old class with Essenar High Hopes (0/0 29.82), with Slattery in fourth aboard Larca van Erpecom (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Darco), and he picked up yet another victory with his Irish Sport Horse Cavalier Teaca when winning Thursday’s 1.40m against the clock.

Anthony Condon finished second in Friday’s 1.45m jum-off class. Riding John Hales’ Zira vh Kapelhof Z, Condon collected €4,940 when jumping a clear round in 34.78 seconds.

McAuley fifth

CO Louth’s Mark McAuley finished fifth in the 1.45m two-star Grand Prix at Mâcon Chaintré in France last Sunday. Riding his Nations Cup mount Utchan de Belheme (Calvaro Z x Mr Blue), McAuley was one of six riders to make it through to the second round and picked up four faults in the jump-off to slot into fifth place and collect €1,750.

Victory went to France’s Lalie Saclier and Tescari’jac (0/0 33.70). McAuley was also fifth in Friday’s 1.45m jump-off class with Al Capone Massuere.

Ryan third

TIPPERARY’s Thomas Ryan placed third in last Friday’s two-star 1.35m in Gorla Minore, Italy with the 14-year-old gelding Carige (Cassini I x Cambridge), when producing a double clear round in 31.89 seconds. Victory went to French rider Adelaide Lautie and Mjanghoj’s Constantin Z (0/0 30.36).
