WEXFORD’S Bertram Allen won last Friday’s 1.40m two-phase class at the two-star show in Kronenberg, The Netherlands.

Riding Ballywalter Farms’ Izzy by Picobello, Allen raced to victory in the class in a time of 23.97 seconds to earn €1,245 in the huge class of 113 starters, with 44 of those jumping a double clear round.

That combination were runners-up in Saturday’s 1.45m jump-off class. Some 24 combinations made it through the timed round and Allen broke the beam in 33.77 to secure €1,300. Germany’s David Will was the only rider to navigate a faster round (32.44) to take the top prize.

Mayo’s Michael G Duffy finished fifth with Carl Hanley Sporthorses’ Irish Sport Horse gelding Captain Maddox (Captain Clover x Argentinus), who was bred by Hanley’s father-in-law Sven Kapp.

Allen’s other placing came in Friday’s seven-year-old class where he guided Go To Fortuna to a fourth-place finish.

Cameron Hanley was also in action and he finished fifth in Thursday’s 1.40m with PMH Polyanna.
