TIPPERARY’s Denis Lynch was back on board his string of young horses at the two-show Eschweiler in Germany and collected a number of wins and good results.

The German-based rider, who has recently returned from spending the opening part of the season competing with the Rushy Marsh Farm horses in Wellington, Florida, guided RMF Hortensia to victory in Friday’s two-star 1.40m two-phase class in a time of 29.90 to collect €1,300.

Lynch took over the ride on the nine-year-old Heartbeat-sired mare in June 2017 and the pair won the one-star Grand Prix in Knokke last July.

Lynch was fourth in the 1.35m six-year-old final with Cornets Iberio (by Cornet Obolensky).

The combination completed with four-faults in the jump-off to finish just outside the podium places.

Dalton third

IVAN Dalton placed third in Sunday’s 1.40m jump-off class with Barthelemy Quentin’s Ambre Platiere (Mylord Carthago x Quick Star). Dalton was clear in the first round but picked up four faults in the jump-off, in a time of 39.62 seconds, to finish third.
