KILDARE’s Niall Talbot kept the Irish flag flying at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Olivia, Spain, last weekend when continuing a good run of form and winning Sunday’s two-star Gold Tour 1.30m aboard Kobold V. Schloesslihof CH.

One of 33 starters, they lodged the winning round in a time of 57.47. The combination also claimed fourth in Thursday’s 1.30m two-phase, when delivering a clear in 24.68.

Twenty-one-year-old Shane Dalton was also in action at the Spanish venue and he picked up three top-four places aboard Larimosa, an eight-year-old mare who was previously ridden by Tipperary show jumper Thomas Ryan.

The first of those came in Thursday’s 1.25m when they finished third, followed by a fourth place finish in Friday’s class. A step up to 1.30m level on Saturday resulted in another clear round and third.

Alex Duffy and Billy Stirling took eighth place in Wednesday’s seven-year-old 1.35m when they crossed the line clear in 37.97.

Duffy was just outside the top 10 in Saturday’s 1.35m, when he delivered a clear with Fts Killossery Konfusion in a time of 32.07.
