CO Down’s Dermott Lennon and MJM Pursuit won the three-star 1.45m Small Grand Prix at the Spanish Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera last Saturday.

Riding MJM (IOM) Holdings Limited’s 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare MJM Pursuit (formally Mullabrack Royal Pride), by Aldato, Lennon was one of 16 riders in the competitive jump-off. Eight of those managed to produce a second clear against the clock, and Lennon’s time of 37.27 seconds was the fastest of the class. He picked up €6,250 for victory.

Czech Republic’s Emma Augier de Moussac slotted into the runner-up position with Rubio Monocoat Electric in a time of 38.18, ahead of New Zealand show jumper Lisa Cubitt with Uncas S, a horse ridden by Irish event rider Michelle Kenny in the past.
