JENNY Rankin landed two victories at the two-star show in Sentower Park, Belgium, last weekend.

The Maladhide, Co Dublin-based rider won Thursday’s Ashford Farm 1.45m aboard Vanessa Mannix and Conor Swail’s 16-year-old mare Flower. Previously ridden by Swail at four and five-star level, Rankin got the ride this season and has had much success.

In Thursday’s class, the pair were the best of nine double clears in 55.56 seconds. It was an all-Irish top three as Shane O’Meara took the runner-up position with Harvard (59.81), while Bertram Allen slotted into third place with the Highfort Stud-owned Irish Sport Horse Classified (Je T’Aime Flamenco), bred by Galway vet Philip McManus.

On the same day, Rankin won the two-star 1.40m with Carmela Z, a 10-year-old mare also owned by Canadian Grand Prix rider Vanessa Mannix. From a starlist of 45, Rankin was the fastest of 20 clears in 55.70 seconds, almost three seconds faster than her nearest rival, Sweden’s Amanda Landeblad and Eumosa (58.23).

Harry Allen was also in winning form at the venue. He landed victory in Friday’s 1.45m with a relatively new mount, Ballywalter Stables’ 10-year-old gelding Carlo 454, when best of six double clears to earn €6,350.

The Allen brothers of Harry and Bertram took the top two slots in Saturday’s young horse classes. Leading the victory lap was Bertram aboard the seven-year-old Empoli de Champloue, double clear in 28.30. Harry also delivered a foot-perfect round with the seven-year-old Calisto Blanc in 28.43. Harry also accounted for fifth place with Kurkuma Della Caccia in 31.15.

Shane O’ Meara won the CSIYH1* on Thursday when he guided the eight-year-old mare Iris to a clear in 27.47. Bertram Allen was third with Calculatus in 28.37, while Rankin took sixth place with Justinov BB in 29.17.

Nano Healy also got on the board when he won Saturday’s young horse class with the seven-year-old Costa Concordia, best of 19 clears in 57.66.

Rankin slotted into third with Justinov BB, ahead of Bertram Allen and Calculatus in fourth. In the six-year-olds, Abigail Boland finished best of the Irish in fifth place with the GBBS Int Ltd-bred Irish Sport Horse BP Fandango (Elvis Ter Putte).
