CO Down’s Suzanne Posnett is enjoying a hugely successful trip to the two-star show in Auvers, France, dominating the ladies section and racking up a hat-trick of wins with Zinniz Rounthorn last week.

The northern-based rider got off to a good start with a win in the opening CSI L* 1.30m last Friday. The pair posted another 1.30m victory on Saturday before going on to win the CSI L* 1.35m Grand Prix on the final day of the first week.

Posnett picked up her fourth win of the week with Karmijn, her own 24-year-old mare, in the 1.20m ladies competition, after finishing third on the opening day.

She again got the second week off to a winning start on Wednesday in the 1.30m ladies with Zinniz Rounthorn.

Speaking to The Irish Field, Posnett said: “Zinniz Roundthorn is just unbelievable, she has the heart of a lion. She won every class she was in last week, and she won them easy. I have her just over a year now and she has come on so much.

“This is my second year coming to this show. It’s lovely here, the arenas are very good, the jumping is competitive and the atmosphere is great.”

Among the other Irish riders at the show was Robert Harrison, who enjoyed good placings with his six-year-olds Caladin Z and Klanhugh Dreamland. Galway’s Joseph O’Brien was fourth in Wednesday’s 1.25m one-star class with Legaland Lux Breaker.

Brian Cournane was also in action and finished ninth in the 1.45m speed class during week one, aboard Javas Keltic Mist, clear in 69.27.
