Italy’s Luca Marziani slotted in between the two Irish men in a time of 69.67 with Tokyo du Soleil.

His time of 39.66 was the third fastest of six double clear rounds. Victory went to Italy’s Bruno Chimirri and Tower Mouche (0/0 38.84).

Kildare’s Alexander Butler is also in action at the Italian venue and he placed third in Friday’s three-star 1.40m two-phase with the E2 Showjumpers-owned Irish Sport Horse Karina, jumping a double clear in 30.33 seconds.

Butler was also third in Sunday’s 1.35m Table A when clear in 50.74 seconds aboard James Egan’s Eldorado (Zapatero VDL x Kojak).
