CLEM McMahon and Gavin Harley were among the winners at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour (MET) in Oliva, Spain last weekend. McMahon was first off the mark in Wednesday’s six-year-old 1.30m aboard his own Irish Sport Horse Hilton Up The Banner (by Je T’Aime Flamenco).

Bred by Gerard Kelly, the gelding was clear against the clock in 40.45 seconds to secure victory. Kenneth Graham was just behind with another Irish horse – Pacino Amiro, who is by McMahon’s former Nations Cup mount Pacino – in a time of 42.37 seconds.

Donegal’s Gavin Harley was victorious in Thursday’s seven-year-old 1.40m class with Christian Sottas’ KWPN gelding Gentleman T (Indoctro x Ahorn) with a double clear in 32.10 seconds. Jenny Rankin had two horses in the top 10 when finishing fourth and eighth with Call Me Cool Z and Sea Topblue, respectively.

The Spring MET now takes a short break before resuming for its fourth part of the tour from April 10th to 22nd.
