Lynch on podium in Rome

TIPPERARY’s Denis Lynch and GC Chopin’s Bushi put in a brilliant performance to take third place in the 1.50m jump-off at the five-star Global Champions Tour in Rome.

A very competitive second round saw four combinations book their place in the jump-off and in the end Sweden’s Henrik Von Eckermann took victory with Glamour Girl, clear in 32.97l.

Lynch and the 15-year-old GC Chopin’s Bushi stopped the clock with nothing to add in 35.51. The runner-up place belonged to Peder Fredricson and H & M Christian K, in 35.01.

Good results for the Irish continued as Tipperary’s Shane Breen took third place in the 1.55m. Riding Z7 Ipswich, he delivered a clear in 72.54 behind winner Peder Fredricson and H & M All In, who clocked 69.51.

Teamed up

Lynch and Breen went on to take third place on the podium for the New York Empire team in the Global Champions League. Last to go, Lynch and GC Chopin’s Bushi put in a fault-free round while Breen added four faults to the board with Z7 Ipswich.
