DOWN’s Dermott Lennon and Judith Sossick’s great mare Loughview Lou-Lou took third place on the podium in the four-star Grand Prix at the Spanish Sunshine Tour in Vejer De La Frontera.

A double clear round in a time of 42.75 saw them collect €15,000, with victory going to Britain’s Guy Williams riding Depardieu Van’t Kiezelhof (41.28).

Sophie Dalm was best of the Irish the 1.45m medium tour. Riding Remake Lande, she slotted into fifth place after delivering a double clear round in 39.89. The day before, Trevor Coyle finished fourth in the Big Tour 1.30m two phase. Riding For Paul Beecher, Joe Whitaker piloted Loughnatousa Sheldon into second place with a double clear in 31.22 seconds. Later that day, Sligo’s Richard Howley and Houpette finished second in the 1.35 when they clocked 58.94.
