McAuley wins

CO Louth’s Mark McAuley won the Hong Kong Jockey Club Cup champions competition in China last Sunday. Riding a borrowed horse, EMS Inri de Regor (Lord Z x Cento), McAuley was the fastest of five double clear rounds when posting a time of 39.52 seconds in the jump-off. McAuley picked up close to €3,500 for the win.

Hanley sixth

MAYO’S Cameron Hanley finished sixth place finish in the 1.55 Prize of GEZE GmbH at the five-star Stuttgart German Masters last weekend. Riding Patrick Mielnik’s eight-year-old gelding Quirex, Hanley produced a foot-perfect double clear round in 45.32 seconds. Victory went to Brazil’s Pedro Veniss riding For Felicila (0/0 41.79), just ahead of Germany’s world number one eventing rider Michael Jung with Fischer Solution. Bertram Allen picked up two fourth place finished at last weekend’s five-star Stuttgart Masters in Germany. With a relatively new mount Its Me, Allen was fourth in the entertaining Masterhorse Jump & Drive class before again placing fourth in a 1.45m class when clear in 61.14 seconds.

Sloan Allen placed

JOANNE Sloan Allen finished sixth in the one-star Grand Prix in Rouen, France, last Sunday. Riding Fairplay (For Pleasure x Emilion), Allen was one of 10 first rounds clears and faulted just once in the jump-off to finish in a time of 40.78 seconds in sixth place. The class was won by Britain’s Kirstie Leightley riding Igor Van De Dorpshoeve (0/0 38.13).
