Hanley win

MAYO’s Cameron Hanley won the young horse one-star 1.40m class in Verden, Germany, last Friday with the seven-year-old Arany de Kergane (Nervoso x L’Arc de Triomphe).

The chesnut gelding has a phenomenal competition record to date, with 12 wins since March of this year. The combination went on to finish third the following day.

Simpson win

DERRY’s David Simpson won the 1.50m Accumulator at the three-star show in Beervelde, Belgium, when posting the top score of 65 points, in a time of 48.61 seconds, to pick up €2,500 aboard Starfighter (Stalypso x Contendro I). Cork’s Shane O’Reilly was back in 10th place with Uno du Thot.

Other good results for Simpson included a sixth in Friday’s 1.50m with his top horse Keoki (Catoki x Cassini I), clear in 71.71 seconds.

Roger McCrea was another to pick up a win at the French venue as he took Saturday’s 1.40m aboard Sweet Cinnamon (Laptop x Irco Mena).

Moore placed

GALWAY show jumper Stephen Moore finished best of the Irish in the two-star Grand Prix at the Global Champions Tour in the spectacular setting of London. Riding Vlock Show Stables’ Gasper van den Doorn, Moore was one of five riders to make it through to the jump-off against the clock. He finished with three fences down in a time of 38.16 seconds to slot into fifth place and pick up €1,500. The class was won by America’s Jessica Springsteen with Tiger Lily (0/0 37.99).
