Moloney third

KILKENNY’s Richie Moloney picked up a brilliant podium finish in the three-star 1.50m Grand Prix at Tryon Equestrian Centre last weekend.

Riding Button Sitte (Ogano Site x Parco), Moloney was one of just four double clear rounds in 40.38 seconds and he collected just over €17,000.

Limerick’s Paul O’Shea was sixth with Skara’s Glen’s Presence and also 10th aboard Skara Glen’s Machu Picchu.

The class was won by America’s Andrew Kocher.

Hanley fourth

MAYO’S Cameron Hanley finished fourth in last Saturday’s five-star 1.50m class at Spruce Meadows in Canada. Hanley guided his own 12-year-old gelding Aiyetoro to one of five double clear rounds, stopping the clock in 42.90 seconds in the jump-off. Victory went to Canada’s Tiffany Foster and Brighton in a time of 39.90.

Duff victorious

ANNA Duff won the two-star 1.30m accumulator class at Roeser in Luxembourg last Sunday. Riding Diddel van de Kwakkelhoek (Toulon x Capital), she picked up the maximum of 65 points in a time of 48.67 seconds. With Baron XVIII, the Dublin girl picked up €1,000 when finishing fourth in Saturday’s 1.40m.

Swail fifth

CO Down’s Conor Swail finished fifth in Sunday’s five-star 1.45m in Spruce Meadows, Canada. Riding Vanessa Mannix’s Flower (Bon Ami x Randel Z), Swail picked up four faults in the first round of the class to collect just over $5,000. America’s McLain Ward came out on top with HH Carlos Z.

Byrne placed

LONGFORD’s Aisling Byrne picked up a number of placings in Knokke, Belgium, last weekend. With Perfect Rouge (Papillon Rouge x Kougolf II), she placed eighth in Sunday’s two-star 1.30m final, double clear in 37.77 seconds. That placing came after an earlier result in Thursday’s 1.30m where the combination finished fourth.

Riding her own Elo (El Bundy I x Raueck I), Byrne finished fourth in Saturday’s 1.35m, clear in 60.67 seconds. Galway’s Stephen Moore was 10th with Sandetto (Sandro Boy x Chellano Z).

McAuley and Kenny placed

MARK McAuley and Darragh Kenny finished fourth and sixth in Friday’s three-star 1.45m class in Knokke, Belgium. Riding his Nations Cup mount Utchan de Belheme (Calvaro Z x Mr Blue), Mc Auley was clear in 36.59 seconds to pick up €2,500, while Kenny was less than a second slower with C’est Beau in 37.08. That combination had earlier finished second in Wednesday’s 1.45m.
