Hanley double

MAYO’s Cameron Hanley racked up a double of wins at the two-star show in Kronenberg, The Netherlands, last week with the seven-year-old Arany de Kergane. The pair won Thursday’s CSIYH1* with a double clear in 24.95 seconds, with Kilkenny’s Ger O’Neill in third place with the ISH Castlefield Vegas (Cassino x Lux Z). Hanley went on to record his second win on Friday. O’Neill went one better this time and placed second.

Lynch placed

TIPPERARY’s Denis Lynch finished seventh in Sunday’s 1.50m class at the Global Champions Tour of Monte Carlo with Rushy Marsh Farm’s RMF Bella Baloubet, when picking up four faults in the second round in a time of 33.63 seconds. On Friday, the combination placed fourth in the 1.45m, picking up €2,500.

Sweetnam wins

CORK’s Jeremy Sweetnam picked up a two wins and good placings at the two-star show in Joter, Germany. Sweetnam, a nephew of Shane, won Sunday’s two-star 1.40m with Sir Landal Joter when clear in 35.06 seconds. The same combination had earlier won Friday’s 1.30m. He also picked up a fourth place finish in the CSIYH1* 1.40m with Can Fly 20 OS (0/0 31.25).

Rankin in form

YOUNG rider Jenny Rankin finished fourth in the two-star Grand Prix in Kronenberg, The Netherlands, aboard Benny’s Legacy. One of 14 combinations to make it through to the jump-off, Rankin guided Deirdre Bourns’ nine-year-old to a clear round against the clock in 39.25 seconds to pick up €2,500. Ireland’s Anna Duff finished 10th. The class was won by America’s Lucas Porter and B Once Z (0/0 37.60). Duff had earlier taken the runner-up spot in a 1.45m with Baron.

Sophie Dalm placed fourth in Friday’s 1.35m with her own Evita De Wulf Selection. The Co Down rider guided Jack van het Dennehof to third place in a 1.40m, ahead of Rankin in seventh with the ISH Beech Hill Lucia.

Moore fifth

STEPHEN Moore finished fifth in the two-star 1.40m at the Global Champions Tour in Monte Carlo with Vlock Show Stables Cream Caramel. The Galway man posted a clear round in a time of 65.77 seconds, in the class won by Belgium’s Ignace Philips.
