Carway win

ANNA Carway proved to be the one to watch in the under 25 division in Cagnes Sur Mer, France. Riding Ajaccio she took the win in the first 1.40m under 25s when clear in 80.35 and then repeated this performance on Saturday in the 1.40m under 25, clear in 72.50.

The Kilkenny rider completed the hat-trick on Sunday when she guided Ajaccio to win the final 1.40m under 25 class. She was the only rider in the five-way jump-off to deliver a double clear.

Also competing in the French show, Shane Breen made his presence felt when he guided Fabrice Van Overis into fourth in the 1.40m. Breen took seventh in Saturday’s 1.40m with Danique when clear in 43.09, and on the final day, finished sixth in the 1.35m with Silbermond.

Moloney wins

WATERFORD’s Peter Moloney guided Carmel and Dermot Ryan’s home-bred Compelling Z to second place in the seven-year-old final at the two-star show in Bonheiden last week. The Chellano Z-sired stallion was awarded the leading seven-year-old horse at the show.
