Broderick on form

TIPPERARY’s Greg Broderick finished third in last Sunday’s three-star 1.45m in Vejer de la Frontera aboard Veronica Tracy’s Daify. Broderick guided the nine-year-old by Numero Uno to a clear in 68.19 seconds to pick up €3,690. The class was won by Italy’s Luca Maria Moneta and Neptune Brecourt (0/60.37).

That result followed on from a second place finish in Friday’s 1.40m aboard the same mount. Broderick was less than a second slower than British winner Joe Whitaker when breaking the beam in 53.63 with Daify.

McCoppin second

LONGFORD’s Dereck McCoppin placed second in last Saturday’s three-star 1.30m aboard Argeneeka in Vejer de la Frontera. The British-based show jumper posted a clear round in 63.49. Ireland’s Trevor Coyle was seventh with Gravity Of Greenhill (0/70.19).

Beecher placed

Waterford’s Paul Beecher continued his good run of form at the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera last weekend when finishing third in the three-star Accumulator aboard Ikona, stopping the clock in 46.68 seconds. Beecher guided Asti 71 to a second place finish in Friday’s 1.30m before repeating that placing on Sunday’s 1.30m Table A.
