Coyle third

DANIEL Coyle continued a good run of results at CSI*** Angelstone Horse Show in Canada when riding Sue and Ariel Grange’s Fortis Fortuna to third place in the 1.45m $35,000 Diamanté Sunday Classic.

The Derry rider jumped a clear round in the jump-off in a time of 37.22 seconds and picked up $5,250 in prize money for the podium finish behind America’s Leslie Howard on Moondoggie, who took victory in 35.80.

Hampton Classic

IRISH riders Shane Sweetnam and Richie Moloney featured in the opening class at the Hampton Classic Horse Show at Bridgehampton, New York.

Sweetnam rode Main Road to third place, while Moloney guided Slieveanorra (ISH) to fifth in the $30,000 Boar’s Head Open Jumper Challenge. America’s McLain Ward took victory aboard Tina La Boheme.

Berry fifth

BANBRIDGE event rider Susie Berry finished in fifth place at the Scottish Open Championships CIC*** at the Blair Castle Equi Trek International Horse Trials last weekend. Riding Carsonstown Athena, Berry, who is based in English with British event rider Piggy French, finished on a score of 68.3 penalties, behind Britain’s Flora Harris and Bayano, who won on a score of 42.8.

Kerins placed

SLIGO’s Darragh Kerins guided Thunder D Amaury to an eighth place finish in the $100,000 Grand Traverse Grand Prix at CSI*** Williamsburg in Michigan, America. Kerins posted a clear first round with the nine-year-old gelding by Quidam De Revel, but six faults in the jump-off meant they had to settle for eighth place with a time of 48.23.

Samuel Parot of Chile was the quickest double clear in 38.67 seconds.
