CAMERON Hanley placed second in the two-star Grand Prix in Herning, Denmark, last Sunday.

Riding the eight-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare ESI Toulouse (Siec Livello x Quasimodo Vd Molendreef), who was bred by Cian O’Connor, Hanley was among eight clears in the first round of the 1.45m class, in what was the gelding’s first Grand Prix at this level.

Hanley gave it a good try against the clock and broke the beam in 37.63 second to slot into the runner-up position behind Britain’s Louise Saywell and Golden Arrow OL. He collected €5,000.

Conor Drain picked up four faults against the clock in a time of 37.50 to finish in sixth place and collect €1,125 aboard Dialetto PS. Among Drain’s other top placings was second in Thursday’s three-star 1.45m two-phase.

He guided Forever to a double clear in 30.20 seconds, while Hanley was two places behind him aboard Centolina RB (0/0 31.15). Drain was third in Wednesday’s three-star 1.40m aboard Fieldmaster.
