GALWAY show jumper Michael Duffy was in top form at the two-show in Moorsele, Belgium, last weekend picking up a world ranking class win before claiming the runners-up spot the Grand Prix.

Riding Lady Georgina Forbes’ Castleforbes Talitha, a nine-year-old mare by Cardenio, Duffy scooped the top prize in Friday’s 1.45m Longines world ranking class.

FIRST WIN

The 22-year-old took over the mount on the Hanoverian mare at the beginning of the 2016 season and the pair were recording their first win.

She was previously campaigned by Ireland’s Tom Slattery and Kevin Mealiff and competed in the seven and eight-year-old international classes at the Dublin Horse Show in 2015.

Duffy, who is based in West Sussex at Inglis Stables, went on to finish second in Sunday’s two-star Grand Prix with Belcanto Z. Mayo’s Jack Dodd rode Ballywalter Farm’s Dino W to fourth.

The eight-year-old entire by Berlin has been in good form under Dodd and Bertram Allen, who recently claimed the seven and eight-year-old qualifier at the RDS in July.
