CO Down show jumper Sophie Dalm picked up three top three places at the two-star Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Oliva, Spain, last weekend.

The 25-year-old, who is based with Marlon Zanotelli and Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli, guided the nine-year-old mare Katana ter Damme to top placings in 1.35m classes.

The first result came on Thursday when the combination placed third in the 1.30m Table A with one of 33 clear rounds from the 92-strong startlist.

Mexico’s Mariel Victoria Aguirre took victory with Taormina, ahead of New Zealand’s Lisa Cubitt and Avalon du Carpont, a gelding formally ridden by Ireland’s Michelle Kenny.

Dalm and Katana ter Damme were then second in Friday’s 1.35, Table A, where Aguirre once again took victory, before securing their final runner-up place in Saturday’s 1.35m.

Dalm was among 10 clears in the first round of Sunday’s 1.40m Grand Prix with VDL Stud’s Fastday VDL, but four faults in the jump-off saw them finish in ninth place. That result came after a fourth place finish in Friday’s Grand Prix qualifier. Cubitt took the Grand Prix victory with the fastest of six double clear rounds aboard Encore, ahead of Belgium’s Nicola Philippaerts and H&M Ikker.

Co Antrim’s Joanne Sloan Allen was the runner-up in Saturday’s 1.30m Accumulator, riding her own Amigo Cascade M.

The combination scored the maximum points of 65 in a time of 52.16 seconds. Her other placing came on the same day aboard Wicked Hope when clear in the 1.30m Table A to finish in fifth place.
