NOTHERN riders Conor Swail and Daniel Coyle were in the winners’ enclosure for the second week in-a-row at the three-star Royal West show in Calgary, Canada.
Coyle was first off the mark in Tuesday’s 1.45m when he guided Lothlorian Farm’s Fortis Fortuna (Quidam de Revel x Carthago) to a speedy clear round in 58.24.
Co Down’s Conor Swail slotted into third and fourth place with GK Coco Chanel (61.45) and Flower (62.18) respectively. Swail followed up those placings with a win of his own in Thursday’s 1.45m jump-off class aboard his own and Vanessa Mannix’s Flower (Bon Ami x Randel Z). The combination were the fastest of a 13-horse jump-off in 39.07 seconds to beat Coyle and Cita into second place (0/0 40.13).
