DERRY’s Daniel Coyle got the ball rolling for the Irish in the CSI2* Calgary, Stampede Park, Canada, when he led the victory lap in the $35,000 Table C 1.45m.

Riding the late Susan Grange’s Fortis Fortuna, co-owned by her daughter Ariel, he lodged the winning clear in 54.13. Coyle was chased home by Co Down’s Conor Swail, just fractions behind with his own and Vanessa Mannix’s 12-year-old mare Flower in 54.61 seconds.

Swail added to the Irish haul when he took the win in the 1.45m jump-off on Friday. Riding Flower, this time he made no mistake as he lodged the winning clear in 37.05. Not content with the win, Swail also took third place with GK Coco Chanel, clear in 38.92 seconds and in total took home almost $17,000 for his efforts.
