IRELAND’s Jordan Coyle captured the win in the $30,000 Adirondack Jumper Classic at Lake Placid Horse Show in New York. Riding Boston Ask in Friday’s featured competition, he was one of five combinations to book their place over the Alan Wade-designed course and clocked the fastest time of 34.453 seconds.

Speaking after the win, Jordan Coyle said: “This is my first time here and I really couldn’t believe how great the field was,” in reference to the day-long rain. “There are very few rings that can match one this even when they have perfect conditions.

“I felt I was a little slow over the first part of the jump-off so I took a chance over the last two jumps and fortunately it paid off.”

Second place went to Heather Caristo-Williams who crossed the line clear 35.696 on Highlander MVF. Filling third place was Dana Gattuso who delivered a clear in 36.376 on Halocia, ahead of Ireland’s Jonathan Corrigan who also maintained a clean sheet in 40.506 aboard Loughnavatta. Slotting into fifth place was America’s Laura Chapot who lodged the fastest jump-off time of 33.119 seconds on Diarado’s Flying Dutchman but it came at a cost with a rail down for four faults.
