FOR the second time in seven days, Eddie Moloney proved unbeatable in the Leinster Summer Tour, as the Kilkenny rider followed up his win at Iverk show a week earlier with victory at Coilog EC in Co Kildare.

Moloney’s latest win came aboard his own eight-year-old gelding Boncouver, who is by Vancover out of a Cento dam.

One of eight of the 23 starters to make it into the jump-off, Eddie Moloney crossed the finish line clear in 33.09 seconds, just under a second ahead of runner-up Tom Slattery with the promising seven-year-old Cardenio mare Castleforbes Talitha, who is out of a Baloubet de Rouet dam.

Laois-based Vickie Anderson followed up her third place finish at Iverk with a similar result at Coilog riding Olive Anderson’s Zack. They comfortably posted the fastest time of the competition (27.24) but one fence on the floor cost them a shot at victory.

Gerard Clarke maintained his push for overall league honours with a fourth place finish aboard Kings Best, just ahead of Captain Geoff Curran, who took fifth place with Seapatrick.

Tom Slattery took another share of the prize fund by grabbing sixth spot with Castleforbes Cicely.

The final round of the Leinster Summer Tour takes place tomorrow (Sunday) at the Irish Breeders Classic Show in Barnadown, Co Wexford.
