Allen wins

WEXFORD’s Harry Allen (14) took the two top placings in the 1.30m pony speed class at CSIP Valkenswaard, The Netherlands, scoring the win with Aughnashammer (0/57.87) and the runners-up spot with Cassandra Van Het Roelhof (0/59.50).

Allen and Cassandra Van Het Roelhof were also second in the 1.30m Pony Final at the venue. The duo were double clear in a time of 41.27 behind Dutch winner Iris Zwienenberg on Bora Bora, double clear in 38.77.

Carey double

IRELAND’s Shane Carey and Contenance won the 1.45m speed class at Budapest CSIO***, clear in a time of 59.54, and also won the timed 1.50m Table A (0/65.55).

Carey was eighth in the 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier with the same mount (0/4 45.21), won by Russia’s Maria Madenova on Conquest (0/0 44.43). Earlier, Carey and Contador finished the 1.40 speed class on 68 penalties behind Swiss winner Barbara Schnieper on For Winja CH (63 penalties).

Drain placed

ANTRIM’s Conor Drain enjoyed a series of top placings at Valkenswaard U25 International. Coached by Ian Fearon, Drain was second with Audi’s Faults Free (0/0 34.91) in a 1.45m two phase CSI U25 at the top venue in which Ireland’s Sophie Dalm was fifth with Remake Lande (0/0 36.57), won by America’s Emma Heise on Quentucky Jolly (0/0 34.70).

Drain was third with Audi’s Faults Free in the 1.50m speed U25 international competition at Valkenswaard (0/70.00) behind Belgian winner Pieter Clemens on Silberrose (0/66.22). Drain was also second with Deister in the 1.40m speed class (0/65.14), won by Dutch rider Kevin Jochems on Happy Feet (0/64.71). Sophie Dalm was 10th with Evita de Wulf Selection (4/59.87).

Drain placed seventh with Audi’s Faults Free in the 1.50m U25 class (4/72.68) behind Qatari winner Hamad Ali Mohammed A Al Attiyah on Appagino (0/0 40.51).

Duffy runner-up

MICHAEL Duffy and Belcanto Z were second in the 1.50m jump-off class at Megeve CSI***, France, double clear in 38.75 seconds behind Swiss winner Werner Muff on HH Fleur (0/0 38.26).
