Double joy for Kenny

OFFALY’s Darragh Kenny enjoyed two wins at the two-star show in Bonheiden, Belgium, last Saturday winning a 1.40m speed class with Wan Architect (0/56.84) and also triumphing in a 1.45m jump-off with Bolero III (0/38.90).

O’Connor fourth

CIAN O’Connor was fourth on Crespo PKS in the 1.40m Pres Des Hardenberg Golf Resort class at the three-star show in Norten-Hardenberg, Germany.

Talbot placed

KILDARE’s Niall Talbot was seventh on Caracter in a 1.45m class at Samorin CSI***, Slovakia (0/74.15) behind German winner Hendrik Gravemeier and Cortez 63. Talbot was 10th with Nicos De La Cense (0/0 42.13) in the 1.45m class won by Belgian’s Karel Cox on Cayen Van Het Hobos (0/0 39.05).

Merveldt dominates

IRISH dressage rider Anna Merveldt was in dominant form at the three-star show in Lipica, Slovenia, last weekend.Merveldt and Idamantes LLC won the Intermediate 1 on a score of 69.553% and the Italian-based rider was also fourth with Forget Me Not 2 in the Intermediate Freestyle to Music (68.950%).

Ryan placed in Poland

IRELAND’s Eoin Ryan was seventh with Nelson 235 (0/57.77) in a 1.40m speed class won by Britain’s Kayleight Watts on Winde (0/52.19). Ryan was also ninth on Pascalino (0/4 46.94) in the 1.45m Grand Prix won by Mexico’s Santiago Lambre on Johnny Boy (0/0 41.71).

Drain in top 10

ANTRIM’s Conor Drain was eighth in the 1.45m Grand Prix at the two-star show in Wierden, The Netherlands, on Audi’s Faults Free (0/0 40.69) behind Dutch winner Jelmer Hoekstra on Quinoa Des Riolletts (0/0 36.13).

USA win for Sweetnam

CORK’s Shane Sweetnam clinched his first win at Tryon International EC in North Carolina this season, claiming the $35,000 1.50m Suncast Welcome on board Cyklon 1083, in 35.393 seconds.
