GERMAN ace Daniel Deusser won the €302,000 Grand Prix honours at Knokke Hippique CSI***** in Knokke Heist, Belgium, on the 12-year-old Belgian mare Equita Van T Zorgvliet from 49 starters.

France’s Philippe Rozier was second on Rahotep de Toscane in a time of 39.39 while Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat took third with Nino des Buissonnets, in 39.96.

Fourth place went to Britain’s Ben Maher riding Boomerang in 40.00 and fifth place was for Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca, riding Ensor de Litrange LXII in a time of 40.14.

Ireland’s Cian O’Connor was sixth on Good Luck, while Rio-bound Greg Broderick and MHS Going Global (ISH) were eighth, both jumping double clear rounds. Cork’s Shane Sweetnam and Buckle Up finished on nine faults.

Earlier Broderick was fifth on Zuidam in a 1.45m jump-off (0/4 36.13) behind Swiss winner Steve Guerdate and Dioleen (0/0 36.02), while O’Connor jumped Good Luck to a fourth place in a timed 1.45m class (0/77.67) won by Germany’s Marcus Ehning on Singular Is La Dilla (0/66.20).

In the young horse classes, O’Connor jumped Excellent B to 10th place (0/4 38.82) behind Belgian winner Oliver Philippaerts on Ikker (0/0 36.82). Ross Mulholland was third on Under Fire du Lozon in a 1.40m Table A class (0/0 41.09), won by America’s Madison Goetzman on Wrigley (0/0 37.41).

Kilkenny’s Ivan Dalton won the two-star Grand Prix at Knokke riding Umano Des Dragons, winning a new Mini Moke car as his prize.

The 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse, Limestone Grey (Try-Time) was third for Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca in the final Grand Prix qualifier won by world number one America’s McLain Ward on HH Carlos Z.

PARIS GRAND PRIX

The 17-year-old wonder stallion Casall ASK delivered once again for Sweden’s Rolf-Goran Bengtsson capturing the €320,000 Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix CSI***** of Paris from Simon Delestre in second and Penelope Leprevost in third.

There was no luck for Cork’s Billy Twomey and Tin Tin who finished in 22nd (four faults round one), while Wexford’s Bertram Allen and Romanov were 24th with seven faults in the first round. Tipperary’s Denis Lynch retired All Star %.

Lynch and All Star scored a fourth place finish (0/57.52) in a speed class won by France’s Roger Yves Bost with Pegase du Murier (0/56.10).
