THE first qualifier of the Half-Bred Horse Breeders Society loose jumping championship took place at Portmore EC on Wednesday, November 11th, when a large crowd came to watch a collection of three-year-olds judged by John Floody.
The recently crowned Gain/Alltech Autumn Grand Prix champion choose the Carol Armstrong-owned three-year-old Cornascriebe Tinker Bell (by Peter Pan out of a Ballinvella mare) as the winner.
VARIETY OF SIRES
Second place went to Norman Hammond’s RNH Baby Balou (by Peter Pan out of a Baloubet Du Rouet dam), while Eric Pele’s Lisbane Pacina (by Pacino out of a Cruising dam) finished third. A wide variety of sires including Creevagh Ferro, Shannondale Sarco, Je T’Aime Flamenco and Talobet Z were represented amongst the top 10.
The next qualifier will take place at Connell Hill EC in Co Antrim this Tuesday, November 24th, before the final takes place at Portmore on Wednesday, December 2nd.
