THE Irish childen on horsesriders got their campaign off to a good start last May as the team of Ciaran Nallon (Woodfield Samenco), Abby Morton (Patch Mills Laura), Shane Moloney (Valtaire) and Emelie Larkin (Flexing) finished third in Deauville.

In Hagen, the team of Harry Allen (Wild Thing), Larkin (Flexing), Morton (Patch Mills Laura) and Killian Ryan (Boomerang Breeze) showed similar form to finish sixth. Jack Ryan, who was also competing in Hagen, delivered his best result when finishing in fourth in a Table A (Cavalier Teaca).

In the European Championships in Arezzo, the team of Larkin (Flexing), Jack Ryan (Cavalier Teaca), Morton (Patch Mills Laura) and Allen (Wild Thing L) finished sixth.

Back on home soil in Dublin, victory in the children on horses competition went to Aoife McCabe (Carramore Oasis).

It was a good year for Shane Moloney as he and Valtaire took the honours in Millstreet and then went on to claim the 1.15m final at the SJI National Championships in Ennis.

At the Owners’ Pony and Young Riders Charity Show at Millstreet, Killian Ryan (Elysium) won the inaugural Children on Horses Grand Prix.
