CAVAN has been buzzing all week between the show jumping action and Thursday night’s foal sale (see Margie McLoone’s report on A79).

Bumper crowds are expected this weekend for the highlights of the six-day annual Indoor Championships.

Today (Saturday) sees the Hankook six and seven-year-old Cavan Classic Final, starting at approximately 7.30pm, while Sunday’s highlights include the Cavan Crystal Hotel five-year-old Cavan Classic Final, at around 2.30pm, and the main feature event, the Cavan Grand Prix, which will start at 7.30pm (see Cavan startlist on A83).

Mervyn Clarke got the Clarke family off to a good start when he won the first six and seven-year-old qualifier on Tuesday with Thomascourt Senna.

Car parking is, of course, free, while Snaffles Bar and Boomerangs Restaurant are open throughout the weekend.
