LOUGH Scur Quality Lady, bred and owned by Seamus Tighe and ridden by John Mulligan, was named the four-year-old champion on Sunday morning in Cavan Equestrian.

By OBOS Quality 004 and out of Lough Scur Sardiamond, who is by Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan, she earned a first round mark of 106 from judges Greg Broderick, Eddie Moloney and Mervyn Clarke Jnr.

In the second round, she was awarded a mark of 80, which, when combined with the first score, gave her the winning total of 186 points.

Catherine Thornton and Coachella (Ustinov – Cruising) filled the runner-up spot with a first round score of 104.6, followed by a second round score of 80 to finish on a total of 184.6.

Ita McDermott riding Cathy Cuffe’s Dutch-bred mare Katorevel (Quaid – Satisfaction) slotted into third place after a first round score of 96.3, combined with a second round score of 82.3 for a total of 178.6.

A high first round mark of 102.3 was followed by a disappointing second round mark of 69 left the stallion Oberon Van T’ Lohof (Eldorado Van De Zeshoek – Winningmood Van de Arenberg), ridden and owned by Cathal McMunn, in fourth place.

Fifth place went to Cora Sharkey and Agh Whiterock De Muse of Cruise (Cardento – Cruising) with a score of 97 in round one and 74.3 in round two.

HADLEY DOUBLE

Sven Hadley recorded two impressive results on Sunday winning the 1.20m final in the morning and the 1.10m Grand Final in the afternoon. Riding Vvood Stock De Breve (Lamm De Fetan – Heartbreaker), he won the opening class the 1.20 metre final.

Hadley stopped the clock at 30.26, just ahead of Jamie Landers and Isora in 31.43 who took second place. Shane Goggins and Baliea De Loup finished third in 31.70, while Derek McConnell occupied fourth and fifth place with Izzy on 33.66 and Choker Z in 34.34.

Hadley filled first and second place in the 1.10 metre Grand Final. He took the top spot on Acrolux in a time of 36.83 and the runner-up spot with Jasmine Van der Notlere in 36.95.

Mark Finnerty and Diarado Royale finished in third place in 37.11 while fourth went to Mr Easy Street, ridden by Healy MacKenzie in 37.20.

Mirdad Madinaaat Alrahmaaan, ridden by Shiekh Samir Mirdad, won the 1 metre championship by a large margin. The pair jumped clear in 28.91, five seconds ahead of runner-up Leah Mahony, riding Rouge Mohawk. Third place went to Ciara Nee and Jasmine Van der Notlere in 34.09.

The 1.10 metre championship went to the experienced Zazu Van Terhofstede, ridden by young rider Kirsti Connole in a very fast jump-off time of 29.80. Second-placed Aisling McGreal and Rincoola Tintean recorded a time of 31.06, exactly the same time as third -placed Angela Kosko and Happyness R.
