CREEVYQUINN Poseur was named Four-Year-Old Champion at this year’s Cavan Indoor Show. Owned by Carol Gee and bred by Stephen Reilly, this mare is by Cornet Obolensky out of Boraya VDL (by Argentinus).

Owner Carol Gee said: “We are delighted with how she went. We’ve had her since she was a foal and this was her first show. She has a fantastic temperament and she coped really well in the indoor ring.

She was with Emma Jackson at her yard up the North for the spring and did some cross-country schooling just to get her some mileage.

“Myself and Kate (Derwin) then decided to send her to Sean (Monaghan) for a month with a view to him competing her in the four-year-olds in Cavan so that couldn’t have gone better. Kate and Sean are friends and she felt that he would be a good match for the mare and was the right kind of rider to bring her on a bit before Kate takes over the ride.

“We will give her a break now and then next year will aim her at the five-year-old Horse Sport Ireland classes and Dublin qualifiers. This was a great start to her competitive career.”

A first round score of 107.60 over 10 points ahead of their closest rival showed how much judges Eddie Moloney, Richard Kerins and John Floody thought of the winner from the outset.

A second round score of 75.3 saw Creevyquinn Poseur finish on a total score of 182.9 for the win.
