Kershaw proved out of luck when she had two down with her second mount Novellent, but a fast time of 43.94 saw her take fifth place. Ellen Thompson failed to make the jump-off with Alejandro Two, however the pair were fastest of the four-faulters in 76.20 for sixth place.

Botanica Amateur Championship

Victory in Sunday’s Botanica Amateur Championship stayed north as Joanna Curran (AA) and Intis took the win when they delivered the only double clear in the eight-way jump-off in a time of 38.50.

Category A rider, Danielle Logan and Demero beat the winning time when clocking 35.83, but four faults would mean that she would have to settle for second place.

Winner of the 1.10m Mervue Equine Leinster Summer Tour, Aileen McDermott added to her record sheet when she took third place with Amber Balou, with one on the ground in 36.33. Caitlin Duffy (AA) and Jockeyhall Midas Touch also crossed the line carrying for faults in a time of 36.97 for eventual fourth.

Kevin O’Reilly (A) also put in the fastest round of the jump-off when clocking 32.80, but it came at a heavy price as he had two on the ground and as a result had to settle for fifth place. Lynn Kelly (A) suffered a similar fate to O’Reilly with her charge Donaghmore Dolly, but a slower time of 39.61 would see her take sixth place.
