BARNADOWN was a hive of activity last Saturday as it played host to the second round of the popular Coolmore Stud Pony Premier Series.
In the 128cms U10s, Jamie Clarke took the honours with Gillian Kerr’s Pepsi Mac. No strangers to the winners’ enclosure, James Derwin and Ballyknock Master Roan took the runner-up place, ahead of Ben Cassidy and Castlequarter Jack. Lauren Adams and Killaloe Gypsy took fourth place, while Paddy Reape and Northlight Giorgio accounted for fifth. Reape has made his presence felt in this series in the first round as he took three placings in the line-up.
Alice Wachman got the ball rolling for the Wachman family as she partnered Little Ceaser into sixth place. It was a good day for Robert Russell as he took seventh with Newtown Black Guy and eighth with Super Sonic. Ninth place was occupied by Senan Reape and Little Ethan, ahead of Chloe Hughes Kennedy and Lisboy Mini Magic.

Runner-up at the recent RDS qualifer at Mullingar, Tom Wachman went one better when he took the win with Murphy Spartacus in the 128cms Coolmore Stud Pony Premier section. It was a well worthwhile trip from Cork for Zuwena Barre as she took the runner-up place with Michael O’Connell’s He’s A Touch Of Magic, ahead of the familiar partnership of Coen Williams and Parc Giggles. Olivia Shanahan took fourth place with Shangan Ritmo, ahead of Aine Shortall and Toorboy Tommy.
Winner of the first round at Ard Chuain, Katie McEntee added to her points tally as she took sixth with Kilcreene Apollo. Tom Wachman returned to claim seventh place with Parc Epic ahead of Eoin Brennan and Ashsars Miami Bound.

Winner of the opening round of the series, Francis Derwin cemented his place on top of the leaderboard as he led the victory lap in the 138cms Coolmore Stud Pony Premier section with Ruby Brown.
Ellie Rose Cassidy’s impressive round saw her take the runner-up spot with Ballywire Mirah. This is the second good result for this combination having finished fifth at Ard Chuain. Also keen to make his mark on the the leaderboard, Max Foley wasted no time with Mayfly Green Peter for third place.
Accounting for fourth place were Alice Power and Bear Me In Mind, ahead of Max Wachman and Scarletts Billy The Kid. In sixth place was Rhys Williams and Sligo Lux To Queeney, while John McEntee and Mentos Lara filled the next place in the line-up.

Winner of the 148cms Coolmore Stud Pony Premier decider was Harry Allen and Aughnashammer. Not content with the win, Allen also took the runner-up place with Cassandra Van Het Roelhof. Abbie Sweetnam’s careful riding saw her take third place with Dynamite Spartacus.
Ciaran Nallon dominated the opening around and once again his experience showed as he took fourth place with Rexter D’or and fifth place with his mother Sandra’s ever reliable Dibidoe.
A familiar face in the winners’ enclosure, Jason Foley took sixth place with More Clover, ahead of Jack Ryan and Sixmilewater Blaze.
