FOLLOWING the success of the Co Kildare EC Show Jumping League in 2018, this year sees the competition extend to all equestrian centres in Leinster and change to a team only format. The Leinster EC Team Challenge is designed for youngsters to get the opportunity to compete outside of their own equestrian centre, as a stepping stone for future competitions at a higher level.

Each centre will hold a qualifier for their own memebers and can enter more than one team. Teams of three will be made up on one rider from the 50cm class, one from the 70cm division and one from the 90cm class. All riders must be under 16 years of age and cannot have jumped over 1.10m in a competition.

The league is supported by The Irish Field and sponsored by TRM and Coilog EC. The launch of the league took place at TRI Equestrian this week. Elaine Hatton, marketing manager at TRM, said: “TRM are delighted to support the Leinster EC Showjumping Team Challenge. This is a wonderful initiative that will support the growth of our equestrian industry in the future and encourage children to continue riding and teach them the value of being part of a team.”
