Kennedy placed

LIMERICK-born Paul Kennedy was the best placed Irish rider in the three-star Grand Prix at Opglabbeek in Belgium last Sunday. Kennedy piloted the Irish Sport Horse mare Cartown Danger Mouse to 11th place in the 1.55m contest, lowering a single fence in the jump-off which was won by German maestro Marcus Ehning with Gin Chin VH Lindenhof. Mayo’s Jack Dodd scored a win for Ireland at the same fixture, claiming last Thurday’s 1.45m class with Wrangler. Kilkenny’s Ger O’Neill meanwhile finished 10th in another 1.45m speed competition last Friday riding Delight.

Hanley second

CAMERON Hanley was in action at the two-star show in Oldenburg, Germany last weekend.

The Mayo rider finished second in last Saturday’s 1.40m speed class with Chita, while Hanley also finished fourth in a 1.45m class on the previous day with Antello Z.

Hughes victory

KILKENNY’S Marion Hughes scored a win in the two-star show at Mijas in Spain last week. Hughes’s victory came in last Thursday’s 1.40m speed class where she was riding the Irish Sport Horse mare HHS Pinky.

She also scored two prize-winning results with Laith, finishing second in a 1.45m speed class before the same pair took fifth place in last Sunday’s Mijas 1.45m Grand Prix which was won by Spanish rider Carolina Aresu with Scara Mouche.
